Brown warp-printed plaid day dress
American, early 1860s, (probably altered from earlier dress, textile dates to 1850s)
Brown, beige, black dress of woven silk ikat, stripes and ikat checks. High neck, fastens front to waist, full skirt, dropped shoulder, ruffle at upper arm sleeve shaped with fullness at elbow, narrow cuff, trimmed with brown and plaid ribbon on outside edge.
