Description Emerald green silk taffeta trimmed with large black velvet bows with cut steel beading applied.

Original catalog card: 1860s, Emerald green silk taffeta dress. (A) The bodice with high round neck and edged with taffeta "tooth" trim, two large buckled bows of appliqued black velvet with green embroidery and silver beads on each side of bodice and on the upper arm of the sleeves; the back of the bodice with two round "tails." (B) The skirt pleated and with train with six large appliqued buckled bows. (C) A separate belt with black velvet trim and long hanging bow.
