Description 18th C., c. 1770, Cream silk satin infant's christening robe. Dress with tucked bodice, bodice released into full skirt with open embroidered at front and hem and short sleeves with cream silk in scrolling vine pattern.
Ivory christening slip gown with floral embroidery. Possibly from England, ca. 1760-1780. Silk satin ground, silk thread. Embroidery type: whitework. (Art of Embroidery label copy, 2009)
Infant's front opening christening slip gown with detachable shoulder straps and set-in sleeves with cuffs. Silk satin, tucked at the side fronts and center back bodice, cream silk embroidery in a floral pattern at the center front, hem and sleeves. (Centuries of Childhood label copy, 2000)
