Description Kimono: brown silk with "basketweave pattern" covering half of lower region, village and water scene in light gray and gray-blue with Japanese writing at chest area extending into sleeve, dark brown 2-1/4" band at neckline. Obi: 7" x 3-7/8 yards, brown patterned silk faille.

"Man's informal kimono, Japanese, about 1910. Brown silk printed with a village and water scene and decorative calligraphy in gray and gray-blue. This kimono would be worn with a narrow brown obi. It was presented as a gift to the British runner Creswell Ramsey." (Inner Secrets label copy, 2007)
