C. 1805, White cotton gauze evening dress with silver embroidery. The dress with high waist, short puffed sleeves, square drawstring neck and drawstring waist gathered in back, embroidered overall with silver sprays, the hem with deep border of embroidered leaves and classical scrolls, pulled threads.
Indian embroidery. The textile bears faint mark probably tax stamp suggesting Indian origin. Only visible under particular light or when textile is wet.
